| The practice of Kaye Tesler & Co. was established during the
1970's as a suburban practice in North London, close to the area in which Michael Kaye,
the founding partner, grew up. The partners noted with concern that during the
rescession of the late 1980's and 1990's increasing commercial pressures on the legal
profession generally led more and more legal services were being provided by so called
'para legals', i.e. persons without the training and standards achieved by qualified
solicitors or persons who had passed appropriate examinations set by the Institute of
Legal Executives.
A founding principle of KAYE TESLER & CO. is that its fee earners have proper
qualification and that there be no cost saving by employing para legals. Despite the
decrease in remuneration rates, it is felt that a very high standard of service may
continue to be offered provided that the most modern computer systems are utilised.
KAYE TESLER & Co from its very beginnings has been at the fore-front of office
technology implemented to increase efficiency with cost savings, for example accounts were
computerised as early as 1978. At the same time the practice by design has remained a
suburban practice with low overheads, where clients are looked after either by a partner
